When I found out that I was expecting my second child I used my own experience as a first-time mum to identify what worked or not for me, and by recognising the things I wanted to change the second time around. I have felt much more confident in my choices for the pregnancy, birth and postpartum period and took the time to expand my knowledge about many subjects, including nutrition.

I have no major health issues and I have not been suffering from many pregnancy side-effects but I was not prepared for the lack of energy that I experienced after the birth of my first son, mostly caused by undiagnosed anaemia. I wanted to be more proactive and prepare my body the best I could this time around.

Talking to Caroline about my diet and trusting her knowledge about what strategy to adopt when using food supplements from reliable sources has made me feel reassured that I was giving my body and my baby the best head start in this new journey. I think that my mindset about food shifted in the sense that I now see food as a way to boost my health as well as being one of life’s best pleasures. I do not feel like I am restricting myself, rather, maximising the potential for health at every meal. Something she said really resonated with me: “don’t think about changing/removing everything, but rather about what you can add”.

Caroline was relatable and really listened to my worries or questions during our consultation. She also explained her reasoning well so everything made sense. I am really appreciative for the knowledge I have gained and I thank Caroline for guiding me.
